Making a Purchase
All prices quoted on the website are inclusive of VAT. All prices, including postage and packing, may be subject to change as a result of increase in direct costs or VAT rates.
Prices quoted by Girlguiding North West England are strictly net. All payments for products made through this website will be procured through a secure browser. All authority for payments must be made/given at the time of confirming the relevant order. Payments can be made by authorised debit or credit card (we accept all major credit and debit cards except for Diners Club and Maestro International). No payment shall be deemed to have been received by us until funds are cleared. All orders are subject to your debit/credit card being approved.
At this time we are unable to take cheque payment for any order made via the website or as a mail-order. Please do not send us payment by cheque via post. We are still able to take cheque payment as an in-person order at our physical shop in Preston.
Postage and Packing
All orders under 2kg will generally be sent via Royal Mail. Items heavier than this are sent via courier. Items with a value of £25 before postage will need a signature on arrival.
Other overseas deliveries will be charged at £5.50. We may be in touch if a very large or exceptionally heavy order is made about further postal charges.
Please note if you order goods from our site for delivery outside the UK, they may be subject to import duties and taxes which could be levied when the order reaches the delivery address. You will be responsible for payment of any such import duties and taxes.
Goods will, in the absence of specified notification and/or at your request, normally be dispatched within five working days. Please allow up to a further three days for delivery. At peak times of the year, such as September and October (start of the new school year), delivery may take a little longer.
Please note that many of our items are ordered through Girlguiding Trading Service and are not held in stock at Girlguiding North West England Headquarters. In the event that your items are out of stock, either at Girlguiding North West England Headquarters or Girlguiding Trading Service, you will be informed of this promptly and an anticipated delivery date will be provided.
If for some reason you need your parcel to be delivered urgently, please contact us via firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that this service will be subject to availability of stock and may incur additional postage charges.
The online shop is monitored from 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday, and is closed on all UK Public Bank Holidays. Orders placed during weekends or on Bank Holidays will be processed the next working day.
The online shop will be closed from December 11 - 15 whilst we complete an annual stock take. It will re-open on 16 December. We recommend ordering before 11 December for guaranteed Christmas delivery, but orders will be processed up to 20 December. The office will close until 2nd January 2020. Any orders processed after 20 December will be dispatched on our return in 2020.
Cancellation and Return Policy
If for any reason you are unhappy with the goods you have ordered, you can return them to us for an exchange or refund at any time during the period of 14 days beginning with the day on which you receive the goods, provided you have told us within 7 days of receipt of the goods that you want to return them.
You can notify us that you want to return the goods by:

You must then return the goods to us as far as practicable in their original condition and packaging. They must not have been washed and must be in a saleable condition, without damage or smell.
Your right to cancel your order does not apply to the following unless they are faulty.
- Goods made to your specification or which are personalised for you.
- Audio or video recordings which have been unsealed by you.
- Newspapers, periodicals or magazines.
You are responsible for the cost of returning any goods to us for exchange or refund, except in cases of faulty, damaged or wrongly supplied goods. If your product has unfortunately arrived smashed, please don't try to return it – just contact us to discuss what to do next.
We recommend you obtain a certificate of postage when you return the goods.
Claims for any shortages or damage(s) must be made in writing or email and received by Girlguiding North West England within 7 days of delivery of the goods.
